Chinese Export Soup Tureen With Undertray
A fabulous Chinese export porcelain soup tureen in classic form with a lotus pod motif on the handle. Beautifully designed with eye-catching colors, making for a unique piece. The bombe oval shaped body, lid, and undertray are underglaze decorated with blue and white scenes of architecture and natural landscapes against a yellow ground. Design dates back to 17th century to Qianlong Emperor as marked underfoot.
Inscription reads "大清乾隆年製", which translates to "Great Qing Qianlong Period Manufacture". Such marks are commonly found on the base of Chinese ceramics, indicating they were produced during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1735–1796)
